Hongkongers came out for networking and tequila
The evening before the always excellent Sohn Hong Kong conference, the Hedge Funds Club had a full house for our Hong Kong networking event at the retro-chic China Club on 29th May 2025. As always, Alvin Fan and his colleagues at OP Investment Management were the centre of attention, not least because of their now legendary tequila bar.
It was great to see industry veterans rubbing shoulders with the next generation of analysts and newbie portfolio managers. Connecting with new contacts and catching up with old friends is what the Hedge Funds Club’s networking evenings are all about. The concept has been the same for two decades. Seeing people with big smiles across their faces and deep in conversation is such a joy. As our industry becomes more digital and artificial, human connections are more important than ever.
