Credit Suisse’s Charles Firth, Asia Pac head of equity structuring, and Lucas Kiely, head of cross-market trading, are understood to be leaving the bank to launch a global macro fund at their new firm Rafiki Capital Management in Hong Kong.

Shinji Ogawa has left Evolution Japan to return to JP Morgan in a Japanese equities sales role. Earlier in his career he has also worked at Credit Suisse.

Following a brief stint with Aksia Asia, Hyon Takagi has joined Winton Capital Management in Tokyo. Earlier in her career she worked at Lincoln International and as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Thomas Picard

Thomas Picard has joined RV Capital Management in Singapore as its new head of investor relations. Picard was most recently in charge of IR at Saka Capital, a firm he has been with since 2009. Earlier in his career he was at HFG Investments, RBS and Lehman Brothers.

Value Partners in Hong Kong has hired Roger Hepper as its new COO. Hepper, a JP Morgan veteran who joined the firm as part of its acquisition of Jardine Fleming, was most recently COO in Asia-Pacific for JP Morgan Asset Management.

Japan-focused hedge funds were down 4.21% in July, according to Eurekahedge.

Jason Fredman has joined Dymon Asia Capital as an execution trader in Singapore. Most recently he was a portfolio manager at RV Capital Management focusing on G10 and Asian emerging markets FX. Earlier he had PM roles at Macquarie Group and Treasury Corporation in Sydney.

Societe Generale has appointed firm veteran Ramir Cimafranca as Head of Prime Services in Japan. The Tokyo-based role will report to James Shekerdemian, Head of Prime Services, Asia Pacific. SocGen recently completed the integration of Newedge (formerly Fimat).

Hong Kong currently has 344 active hedge fund managers with 653 active hedge funds, whilst Singapore has 176 active hedge fund managers with 323 active hedge funds, according to Preqin.

Francesca Massone has shut down her FX fund which has been housed at Swiss-Asia in Singapore. She joined Swiss-Asia in May 2015 and was previously a PM at both Stewart Asia Investment and Tudor Investment Corporation. She started her career at Goldman Sachs in London.
