Winton Capital has recruited Akira Muramatsu from Man Investments for its new Japan office.

Kumiko Morinaga has joined Capula Investment Japan in an investor relations role. She was previously at Deutsche Bank’s wealth management unit in Hong Kong.

Atsushi Katayama has been appointed President and CEO of Japan Alternative Investment. He was most recently General Manager in the asset management division of parent company Mitsui & Co.

Takashi Imai, most recently in a marketing role at Two Sigma Investments in Hong Kong, has joined Credit Suisse’s prime brokerage in Tokyo. Earlier in his career he has worked at ACAM, Itochu, BlackRock, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Barclays Capital.

Millennium Global, the global currency overlay and currency alpha fund manager, has hired Hai Xin as managing director responsible for business development in Asia (ex-Japan) and Australasia.

Matthew Kubo has relocated back to Tokyo to become head of the CEO Office at SPARX Asset Management. He has been with SPARX since 2001 and his roles have included president of the firm’s US and Asian businesses.
