Yoshio Suzuki has resigned from his post as CEO of Daiwa Fund Consulting’s US operations in New York.

Manfred Wong has joined Mesirow’s Hong Kong office. He recently left investment consultant Mercer where he was focusing on due diligence on alternative investment managers. Earlier in his career he worked at PwC, Macquarie and AMP Capital.

Masahiro Shinoda has joined Principal Global Investors in Tokyo as a marketing and client service specialist. He was most recently with Toyota Asset Management and earlier in his career he worked at Aino Investment and Orix.

Takashi Imai has left Barclays to join Two Sigma to be in charge of IR for Japan. He has spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers/BlackRock and Itochu.

Jeffrey Yap, who recently left Mizuho where he was a credit trader, is planing to launch an Asian multi-strat fund. He has reportedly landed a $100m seeding deal for the new fund.

Edgebell Capital in Tokyo has recruited Takeya Obara as chief strategist. Obara has previously worked at Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Mizuho.
