Singapore-based Orvent Asset Management has closed down its US$130m event-driven hedge fund after Brummer & Partners in Stockholm pulled out its seed capital. Fund manager Scott Collison was previously a PM at Millennium Management.

Swiss FoF manager Gottex has acquired Ronnie Wu’s Penjing FoF business. The firms’ Hong Kong businesses will now be combined and renamed Gottex Penjing Asset Management.

Jacky Cheung is leaving Credit Suisse to set up a hedge fund, Kong Ming Capital, in Hong Kong.

Benedict Yap has left his gig as senior research consultant at Mercer Investment Consulting in Singapore where he covered both hedge funds and mutual funds. Earlier in his career he was at EIM, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Ernst & Young.
